sharemydocs.dev is a small, independently run service that turns markdown into a live web page. This page says what it stores, why, and how to have it removed.
What we store
- Your account — username, email address, and a password hash (Argon2; the password itself is never stored).
- What you publish — the markdown you send, its rendered page, title, publish date, and a view count. Docs are private by default; a public doc is visible to anyone and may appear in the gallery and sitemap.
- API keys — stored as hashes, with a last-used time.
- IP addresses — used briefly to rate-limit anonymous publishing and abuse reports (these counters expire on their own), and kept with an abuse report so it can be reviewed.
Cookies
One cookie: a signed session cookie set when you log in. It is HTTP-only, expires after 24 hours, and is used only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics scripts.
Who else handles it
- Amazon Web Services hosts the site and its database (DynamoDB, CloudFront, Lambda) in the United States. CloudFront keeps standard aggregate traffic metrics.
- Cloudflare Turnstile runs on the sign-up form to block bots.
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
Google account data
The operator’s own tooling connects to Google APIs through an OAuth client registered to this site. It is used only by the operator, on the operator’s own Google account. Any Google user data it reads stays on the operator’s computer, is not shared or sold, is not used for advertising or to train models, and its use follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Removing your data
You can delete your docs and API keys from the dashboard. To close your account and remove everything tied to it, email imazhar101@gmail.com.
